The Gouldian finch, or Rainbow Finch,  was named by British ornithological artist John Gould in 1844 as "Amadina gouldiae" in honour of his deceased wife Elizabeth.


The Rainbow finch has incredible plumage with at least 9 different colours on his little body!

The Rainbow Collection is a new collection of exotic birds from Feltmeupdesigns, using the wool that I rarely get to play with I have created a collection of brightly colloured birds inspired by the amazing colours in nature.

This lovely needle felted bird is made from 100% organically farmed Falklands merino wool tops, hand felted using special needles this bird has lovely silver, paper wrapped wire feet.
